Creating An Ethical Environment in the Work Place
Everyday we read about the news of “the good, the bad, and the ugly of work ethics” in the companies. Management must take the responsibility to inculcate the importance of corporate governance and work ethics to all staff.
News: Pfizer to pay US$2.3b penalty
News: Man who blew the whistle $74m richer
News: Top Chefs in Chinese Restaurants in Hot Soup
News: School peddled fake degrees
Every day institutions and corporations, companies and individuals are exposed to the risk of greed and scandal. Some are caught, exposed, reprimanded or reprieved; some escaped with an unpalatable conscience. We read about the big scandals and big rip-off from newspapers, but how about thousands and thousands of ugly scenes that happened in many organizations that are never reported. Many were covered up and many just closed or quietly shoveled off.
We heard about this common idiom: “Don’t wash dirty linen in front of your house.” We can avoid washing the dirty linen if we can assure that there is no dirty linen to wash. Come to this workshop and find out what’s happening in the world of business; what are the good, the bad and the ugly in business ethics.
“Ethics in business is the most urgent problem facing the world today. You do not have to cheat to win as long as you practice integrity in the work place.” - Kenneth Blanchard and Norman Vincent Peale in their book The Power of Ethical Management
This is an excellent workshop for all employees – from the bottom to the top – to understand what is right and what is wrong; what they can do and what they cannot do; what is personal and what is corporate; and at the end of the workshop, all participants will have a better understanding of ethics of work, and believe that honesty and integrity will pay dividend.
The workshop will cover the following topics:
* Ethics * Integrity * Trust * Law * Blame * Accountability & Transparency * Sincerity or Deception * Conflict of Interests * Whistle Blowing * Beware of Traps! Why do traps exist and what are they? * The Power of Ethical Management * Create A Personal Code of Ethics
